Personal background
ooh, look at me, I have a seti@home profile.....
Anyways, I am Brian, and I am tired. I pretty much let seti run all day on my system, which is a yeaar old or so. I downloaded Seti@home because I am reading Contact by Carl Sagan, and I remembered Seti@home, and I thought "Hey, I could download Seti@home and do analysis, just like Dr Arroway......

okay, like I said, I am tired, so I am going to bed now
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In short I think some type of extraterrestrial life exists, but I doubt that we will find it in my lifetime. Sending a beacon wouldn't be bad, but as for information, we would have to send something mathmatical, kinda like in Contact we could send prime numbers, since Math and food are the only universal languages, and I don't think we can transmit food very well.

I think Seti@home is a good idea, because it gets the world involved in the search, not just scientists.

okay, that's it, I am really going to bed this time.
