Personal background |
Hello, I am from Washington Iowa, USA. I am 22 yrs old. I design OPTICAL (although i am very interested in radio) telescopes. It is very fun and challenging. I think the best part about it is testing the telescope at night. My hobbies are (obviously)looking at objects in space. My favorite opject in space is M51. I also enjoy frisbee golf, video games, and anything you can do on the computer. I enjoy watching DVDs and I really like keeping up to date with all the current technology. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I KNOW life exists elswhere. It would be dumb of me to think other wise. Space is to big for it not too. Further more i believe that there is other life right here in our Solar System. Llamas crossed the Bering Straight and became camels so why cant something live in a very dense world such as Venus, or a very hot world we know as the Sun. It is very possible. I once had an argument with a astronomy major about transmiting things to ETs. We sent up a gold disc with the ten-based counting system and some other things on it. I asked him why we sent the ten based system and he said that it is the only counting system possible. Well that is hore patooey. I think we should send things into space, but not because it is the ONLY thing possible, but because it is telling others how we do things. I think it would be great to discover other life, or to be discovered. We could learn great things from them, and vice versa.
I run Seti because i believe in the cause. They are out there, so lets find them. It is very interesting, and i am glad to be of service to the nice people at SETI.
