Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Twisted Questions :) Twisted Answers ;)
1.> YES, I believe ET's exist...when and how will we humans discover it(them)? I don't think we will be (or have been) doing the discovering. Anyway, there are people out there that could have an alien knock on their door and those people will still deny reality. It is true when it is said that people are "blind" to reality...; As for the last question, this is one of those questions that can only be answered when the event happens. And even then it may take a while to realize the big picture.
2.> We humans put more electromagnetic waves into the air than we do pollution...well, that's a pretty close call...anyway, all of those radio waves being broadcast everyday, most 24hrs., have to go some place! Radio waves travel at the speed of light (186,000 miles/second) and they don't hang around the Earth. I'm sure ET has seen our Television shows and heard our Radio broadcast and still can't make any sense out of the human race.
3.> I run SETI@home more for personal reasons than anything else. It is just another avenue on the path of discovery for me. My views? I love it!! If I had the money and the room, I would assemble my own array! There is a lot of information and data to sift through...I'm glad I can help. Suggestions: The only thing I can think of right now is to incorporate some sort of audio into the program...I would like to hear a good signal as wellas see it. Maybe there is something like this out there, I haven't looked yet.
