Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.- If we exist, therefore there must be life elsewhere... I seriously doubt that we, the human race, on planet Earth, are the only ones in this vast universe. We may discover other life in more than one way, but for now, based on our current technology, resources, and imagination, we may be limited, since our planet breathes under an economic platform. If money were no object, I'm sure we could increase our resources and chances to meet others out there.

2.- A beacon is a great idea... any type of visual signal projected from various strategic locations around the world would certainly attract other setient beings out there.

3.- I run it as an excuse to maintain 22 PC's running in my home. I also run it to contribute to the cause because I believe it is a worthy resource to help narrow down our chances of attracting those out there... My views about the project are not really well thought out, but I can say that we are limiting our chances by only scanning a certain range of signals and only a limited area around the Equator. I have no suggestions at this time.
