Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Since I first heard about SETI@home, more than ten years now, I've been fascinated by the idea of looking for life out there, and by the originality on the way that SETI@home set out to do it. Carl Sagan has been an inspiration for me in many ways, and one thing among many that he gave me is the interest on finding ET intelligence. I'm sure that this project would be a dream-come-true for him (actually, that would be hearing an ET person saying hi through the radio, but it's the closest thing, I guess). It is pleasure to be part of this project, and to be able to actually "work" on it. It's been inspiring to see this project progress over the years with the hard work of its core investigators and with the help of so many volunteers. It's inspiring because it says that there are so many people who have the curiosity still alive, and that intellectual thought is a part of their lives.
