Profile: Bob Vandenbosch

Personal background
Dutch male citizen born in 1933. Have lived in USA, France, Belgium, and, of course, Holland. Life member of American Mensa # 1066480. Retired [but busy] computer specialist. Love ocean-sailing, good wine, good food, Johann Sebastian BACH, ladies, cats, navigating, literature, Freemasonry, ethnic music, Judaica, history, interesting discussions. [not necessarily in that order - the order varies with my urges] Which is why I avoid chat boxes like the plague. Of course I have tried those but find the information content to be zilch.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life MUST exist, statistically speaking. However, the universe is OLD and VAST and other civilizations may be not overlapping in time, technology, availability, interests, communication potential (and what if they are in other galaxies?).
I run seti@home because I have lots of spare computer time. It's a great project and I could have started at its inception if I had only known.. But better a late joiner than never. Aim to be in the top 2% of seti users
