| Hi, my name is Mika Toewe. Currently I'm a business major studend enrolled in Oldenburg, Germany. In my rare spare time (even if i'm a student there are a lot of things to do like reading, studying and preparing for classes) I spend it with the DLRG doing some baywatching in Travemuende or with the DRK. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
The first time I heard from Seti@home was a few years ago trough a computer mag. But without a fast computer and an internet connection I didn't use it. But now, with a permanent connection an an Athlon4 1Ghz it is the best way to use the non used computer power during working or playing MP3.
I think it is a great project. Decades ago, nobody even thought of walking on the moon. They did it. Years ago, everybody was convinced that there were no other planets outside our solarsystem. A false statement. And now, a lot of people believe, we are the only race in space. False, too? I my opinion, yes. There are billions and billions of stars out there. Even if only every thousand star has planets and only one of thousand planets can carry first signs of live the probability that we are alone in space is nearly zero.
Why not meeting aliens some day? I don't believe in all this alien visits or kidnappings the press is talking about but I believe in aliens somewhere out there in space. Let's go and try to find them. |
