Personal background
Retired 3-1/2 years ago MARTA (local transit authority) after 28 years. Used to love amateur astronomy before I got too busy. I am trying yo get back to it, even tho' I have forgotten so much. I am native of Atlanta, GA, and have lived in Oklahoma, Washington (state), & Texas. Alma Mater is Baylor Univ. Went back to school when I was 33yo to study Music Education, majoring in voice. Now I have my DIY projects remodelling my home, belong to a hunt club in southwest Georgia, work with my computer, and generally stay busy.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I completely believe in intelligent extraterrestrial beings. How can we be so arrogant as to believe we are the only life God created? I don't think we'll find them. If there is contact, it will be they who make it. We could derive much learning from such a meeting. The big danger is within our own psyche and our fear. We don't have to transmit a beacon - we already are with our electromagnetic spectrum that we se every day. I run SETI@home to be a participant and o some little part in furthering our look for ET, a very important part of furthering knowledge. Right now I am too new to have any suggestions.
