I´m 24 and live in Colombia. I´m a graphic designer who participates in a very interesting project for the development of space sciences in my country. I really care about my planet and feel very commited to its development. I love transformers toys, too.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Sure. Extraterrestrial life exists. I think we´ll discover it within this century. I see many benefits on this contact but i´m afraid of our own reactions. Doomsday panic and fear may be some of them.
2. We should send the best of our music and the best of our science. Both could be easily translated into numbers.
3. I run seti@home because i´ve always wanted to make a contribution to science but unfortunately my country does not promote it. I find it very interesting and costs nothing to me. Anyways I´d suggest a more up-to-date user interface for the program since all those graphics are beautifully scientific.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
