Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes, I think the universe is way too big for it to be just us. I think we will find hard evidence of it within the next 20 years, and contact within the next 200 years. Benifits/Dangers: Well, that depends on society at that time. We have progressed enough to have a more open interaction with other lifeforms now than 30 years ago, when people killed themselves at a simple radio broadcast. Although we are still a destructive force, we are improving.

2) Yes, just in case someone is listening. We should send mathematic equations. Everything comes down to math.

3)Just trying to do my little part. I hope the project is successful, and I would love to see this success in my lifetime. I would like to be able to hear what the computer is processing if the signals we recieve are audible at all. I would also like to better understand what my computer is doing with the signal as it doing it. It would make me feel more like I am a part of it, rather than just my computer. I really like the fact that I can go into Starry Night and see the part of the sky that I am processing.
