Personal background
Hi, I'm 44 years old, or young, depending on how you look at it. I'm from Manchester, UK.

I've been interested in Space, Space exploration, and all things Sci-fi since I was a kid.

I live and work as a truck driver in the UK, and I reckon I spend more time looking up at the stars at night, than I do looking at the road (yes, I work nights). For those of you who run SETI, but don't take an interest, for one reason or another, in Astronomy, do yourselves a favour and look up. It's the only free show that you're ever likely to get, and on a clear night there's nothing more beutiful than looking at something like Orion or Andromeda.

I've been running Seti since 2000.

I've been married twice, with kids from both marriages, and all my kids think that I'm mad.

I'm writing a book at the moment (sci-fi) about a flight to Mars, only I'm a bit stuck at the moment (writers block I suppose), if anyone can help contact me on davepet@btinternet.com
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life does exist, and I think that we will discover it only when we are able to travel between dimentions, ie, I don't think that we will be able to find life as we know it in this dimention, as the distances between planets is too large to travel, unless you have warp capabilities, like in Star Trek. And we all know that warp does not work as it would plaster you to the rear walls of the ship (ouch).
I run Seti, because if a Seti user was able to pick up a saignal from another world, it would be a great achievement, and one that I think we would all like to aknowledge.
I would certainly give them a large pat on the back (via email).
