Computer Science student at New Mexico Tech. I am 22 years old and enjoy space action sci-fi movies and video games. When I am not in the future, I am in the past with some 70's 80's and early 90's hard rock and driving the family car (don't laugh, it is a muscle car).
Computers doing the crunching:
Athlon 1300, 655 MB RAM running Win98 - It does gaming and shutdown during sleep time, it is quite loud.
Average time though 36 hours.
Athlon 2700, 512 MB RAM running WinXP - It does gaming and runs Seti full time. When the blank screen comes on it can do a data set in about 4 and a half hours.
Athlon 1300, 655 MB RAM running Debian Linux - Mostly my development machine and whatever else I need linux for.
Athlon 1700, 256 MB RAM running Win2K - Father's computer, if it still runs it, I don't know, only runs it as a screensaver and only when it is turned on. |
