Personal background
I live in the midwest and I love the hills of the Ozark mountain range. Mainly the freshwater streams that are maped all over the area are my favorite feature. I can't get enough of the outdoors. I like to Camp, Float by canoe and fly fish for small mouth bass and trout. I'm also an avid tradional bowhunter that enjoys the thrill of a fair hunt. Another hobby of mine is electronics. I feel fortunate to be alive in the age of the cumputer. Growing up with the simple, yet problem free Tandy's to building my own systems with all the bells and whistles have made me appriciate the advancemant of technology. I just marvel at the thought of where we, as a species, might be in the future, near and far.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Personally, I do beleive in life on other planets. Single celled or intelligant, others are out there. Billions of stars in our own Milky Way Galaxy and billions of other galaxies with many other galaxies undiscovered, and we're it. Come On! I beleive SETI is just one of the many steps in the advancement of our own exploration and understanding of ourselves. The exploration of areas on the earth alone has already told us so much, just imagine what outerspace and the possibility of discovering other life forms could tell us. Not to mention the questions that arise from such discovories. I run SETI simply to do my part for the good and advancement of the human race. We haven't even begun this glorious journey. :0)
