I run both seti@home and Einstein@home. I run seti@home because I believe it would change the world if there were truly an ET found and boy does the world need changing!
I run einstein@home because I want to feel like I am doing some small contribution to the exploration of space as I will never really go "where no man has gone before" no matter how much I wish for it.
I think both of the above mentioned projects are worthwhile and more earthbound
beings should consider helping them with their excess unused computer power.
I would suggest that earthlings establish a base on the far side of the moon and set up a cosmic monitoring station there for better observations - less earthly interferance etc.
