Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the SETI project is wonderful. The universe is vast. There are billions of stars and billions of planets. Earth is just one of them. If Earth contains life, then i think the possibility of another planet containing life has to be high. If that life, whether biological or a machine built by them, is sending out signals to communicate with other life then why not try and receive it?

I appreciate that SETI receives thousands of signals on their equipment and that the time it takes to process them all is beyond the life span of any generation. I'm also very interested in knowing whether or not there is life on other planets and anything I can do to help is a bonus.

That's why I run SETI@home. To help scan signals to find any artificial transmition. To think that I could be the one to find that transmition. :)

I think we should also do all we can to transmit signals of our own. Let other life know we exist.

Well done SETI and keep up the work. :)
