Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes. Somebody said "If we're alone, then it's an awful lot of space wasted for nothing". The discover will happen w/o a notice and as a surprise to us. There is no way to tell what benefits/dangers there are, as it is necesary to have some data to make a conclusion, and which we do not have yet.

2. We've already sent and still are sending "beacons". All radio transmissions are beacons to others to find. But, if we're to send anything, it should be no details about us, aswe must assume that the listeners can be both friendly AND hostile.

3. I run SETI as it is an exciting way to combine computers into an enormous large, virtual computer.
