Personal background
Born and raised in Ecuador from Japanese parents, I believe I have learnt to see we are so diverse and the world itself pleases us with plenty of variation.
So why think we are the only ones in this vast universe?
At least I would like to keep my faith in this Project.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Running S@H could touch the sense of ego for some who may want to show off how much crunching power their computers have.
Others simply may want to maximize efficiency of their computers, by making them work while these are idle.
But -fortunately- most of us are just believing.

I have had some interest in our surrounding universe since childhood.
Many hypotheses come and go, from relativity to the Big Bang, from wormholes to time-traveling.
But what is important is that through this Project, we are gathering more and more information of what we have always been curious about: what is out there.
Hopefully we would have more than one user who sends back interesting Events that lead our science people to new discoveries.

Hopefully interest in this field of science is growing every day, thanks in part to advances in aerospatial sciences, new discoveries, and even TV and movies.
It is important to keep this interest alive from all possible people for the coming generations.
