Profile: Bob Groeneweg

Personal background
Retired airline flight engineer, age 57 yrs. having flown for nearly 30 years with 15000hrs on Boeing 727, 747, and Airbus A300 aircraft.
Always had an interest in anything to do with astronomical research and the space program, although purely from a layemans perspective. Found your site a couple of years ago and downloaded the screensaver, having accumulated 2200hrs of computor time. Changed e-mail address so had to start again, but never mind, will keep on trying to find that elusive "wow" signal.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1&2. Absolutly!! it may not come for another millenium but it will come, wether we like it or not, simply by the fact that our signals (radio, t.v, etc.)have already been out there for nearly a 100 yrs.
Of course there are risks, but we all would still be in the stone age if man (& women)had not taken risks. But the possibilities of contact would be awesome and being the eternal optomist think what we may get out of it, but also what we may be able to contribute.
What signal we send I will leave to the experts.
3. It's interesting and gives me an update on what the scientific community is up to, and you never know when that magical spike in the graph might occur. It's never dull, keep up the search, it's out there somewhere!!!
