I live in Utah, USA and my hobbies include cars, computers, coin collecting, snow boarding, and mountain biking. But not always in that order.
My cousin showed me the SETI Screensaver one day and I've been hooked ever since.I am amazed at the total processing power that together 4 milion users can have.
I have a wife and 2.5 kids. The other half of our third child should be here by June 2003. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1: I'm not sure if it even matters to me anymore if extraterrestrial life exists. I think it would completely change our world but I also think we are at least 100 years away from that ever happening.
2: I assume the world we live in right now is enough of a beacon for others to find. What ele would we need to do?
3: The maiin reaon I stuck with SETI is the amazing concept of distributed computing. The fact that we have already loged over One Million years of CPU time and my computer was able to process a small percentage of that Super Computing just amazes me. |
