Profile: Dave Manch

Personal background
I am a 39 year old deputy sheriff in Vermont, and I live just over the Connecticut River in New Hampshire. I am an avid Star Trek fan and am fascinated at the prospect of seeing a man walk the surface of Mars within my lifetime.
I am only too happy to contribute the use of my processor here at home to analyse Seti data in the hope that, someday, we may gain a better understanding of the universe and the likely neighboring sentient beings who are doubtlessly as curious about us as we are about them.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Being a part of the largest supercomputer on the planet is just plain cool; no and, if, or but about it. The graphics are wild and the satisfaction of contributing to a great project is very cool indeed. What better way for a space shot like myself to help out but to scan space itself for aliens?
