Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I started running the seti@home screen saver on May of 1999, and am a true believer we will someday prove the existence of life beyond our galaxy. Out of a hundred billion galaxies, someone ... something out there must have an inteligence equal ours. Not to mention that something out there must have an intelligence which is unimaginably far beyond anything we can ever fathom.

I would like to continue to imagine that we will find something which proves these ideas during my lifetime. However, space is so big, we may not. This quandry is one which we must not let rest. We as human beings are explorers, and will continue to look. I'm happy to be alive at such a time where we have the knowledge to actually start the search. It's great to be a part of Seti@Home, and be able to contribute. This project may someday prove to be fruitless. But our past explorers sometimes came upon situations where they thought they found nothing. Lo and behold, look where humanity has taken us is such a short time compared to our estimated 15 billion year age of the universe. Simply Mind boggling!

Yes, there is extraterrestrial life! How will we prove it is a great question, of which Seti@Home is, what I feel to be a great way to move forward with our search. Danger is out there! However, danger in sitting on our laurals is a part of the equation as well. Unimaginable horror can be something we stumble upon, but on the other hand, unimaginable great things can be out there too. There are always those who would attempt to scare an explorer into not asking a question or travelling across that sea. I for one am "game" for seeing and learning some more of the answers our universe has to offer.
