Personal background
I'm an attorney from Akron, Ohio. Having recently bought myself a telescope (Meade EXT-125EC) I'm learning a little about astronomy. I've always been fascinated by space, and sppace exploration efforts, and thought since I have more computers than I could possibly use, I'd give a little processing power to SETI.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET has to exist. I can't think of any reason, logical or faith based, that would explain why intelligent life (if that's what we are) only exist on this rather insignificant planet orbiting a rather insignificant star, on one side of a rather insignificant galaxy....

We definately should be sending a beacon to others in the universe. I'd bet they have a better chance of finding us than we have of finding them. We ought to send the most complete encyclopedia of human existence as we can find, updated as often as possible.
