Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Very rare if it exists anywhere else. We may never discover it. Benefits and dangers depends on how we make contact, when and the technology level of the life that we find.

2. Only if it can be done in a reasonable fashion and at a resonable cost. No information just a simple pulse that could not be mistaken for a natural source.

3. I enjoy the thought of maybe or what if. Expand the project to include tapes from other observatories to expand our coverage of the sky. I would like to be able to control the client program better. Run it all the time but only use 50 percent of the processor or use 2 of 4 processors in a multi-processor machine, etc.
