I am a IT technician - we used to be called programmers but that seems old fashioned and no longer so acceptable. I used to code in COBOL originally and am formally trained - now I seem to use perl more often than not, with the odd python or php script or even C program when it suits.
By day I am a support consultant for PeopleSoft packages for a major UK charity - that is predominately using NT, Oracle, SQR, and perl plus a good deal of website design. Out of work I am mostly a dad to Rebecca and Jessica and have sod all time for anything much else.
