Personal background
My name is Priscilla, I go by Cilla. I love science and espically anything that has to do with space. Iam 45 years young and this is the closest that I will ever come to actually doing research. Although I love school I've never been able to afford to finish. I live in mobile area of Alabama and on the shore. I have a very clear view of the heavens and I am always on the look out for ET. I hve two children and two stepchildren. One going for a Phd and doing research of her own. This is such a great opportunity for the "common folk " to be involved. I am a Jack of all trade and master of none. I love to learn about everything. Nature, Space, Art, Video Games, Animals, Biology, Life in general. Most everything excites and interests me. Never a dull moment for me. But this is a great opportunity...Thanks
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.Absolutly...there are to many varieties and different kinds of life just here on Earth not to have the same varieties and opporutnities out there. I think we will discover them by accident. I think that they may find our probes or hear our radio waves and get curious and come looking. If we had the means that is what we would do. Sharing information it benifit or being conquered by another race it the danger. Pure and simple.
2. I don't know we already have a few things out there. I think a welcome mat is always in order. But once that door is open life as we know it will NEVER be the same.
3. Iam facinated my the idea that they might be trying to contact us. I think that using peoples PC's to help run data is brilliant and I will donate whren my finacial gets better. To help in any way that I can. I wish there was someone on line from the project to talk to but I can see that it would be hard...or a place to e-mail questions and get an answer back.
