Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life absolutely does exist -- I believe its a near impossibility that it doesn't. I don't know that human will discover life outside our solar system in my lifetime as that amount of funding NASA gets does not seem to be enough. Or at least, the search of ET life is considered a low priority by those who hand out the cash. More larger radio observatories should be built to increase our chances of discovery.
I run SETI@home because I think its one of the most amazing projects to come out of the Internet ever. The sheer fact that so many people are involved with the search will ensure the SETI program future for decades to come.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
