| I think we are all lucky enough to live in a remarkable time. We have the means to look into the far reaches of space and the capacity some time in the not to distant future to travel further into it. My hope is that we live long enough to see more of the amazing discoveries that await us. Somehow, I have always felt that sometime during this - our life time - we will live to see something so special that no other humans before us have witnessed. That we are destined for greatness - of human spirit, achievment and by coming the closest to our truest origins than we have ever known before. Because you and I are willing to seek out others and to continually ask that question - "Are we alone in the universe?" Alas - I believe, we are not. SETI is an amazing project; yet another remarkable idea & giant leap for mankind towards finding life out there. Our curiosity as a species ensures that we WILL boldly go where no MAN has gone before. Live long and prosper ! (Yep I'm a trekkie too!) |
