Personal background
First up, the picture attached to this profile is of the Parkes radio telescope, located in NSW, Australia oh and that's me in front of course :)

I'm from Adelaide, South Australia and have been running SETI@home now for over 2 years. I started off getting through only one block every few days. Since then I have had a few system upgrades and how have SETI@home running on my Linux Internet server and my Windows workstation. (Currently averaging about 3.5 blocks a day).

I'm a computer engineer and run my own business (see our SETI@home group - Sonic Resolutions) but I have always been fascinated with the universe, space, amazing concepts (like quantum physics) and the thought of life outside our world. I guess SETI@home allows me to be involved in a very small way in looking for answers in the cosmos. :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I always wonder if I'll see an answer to that age-old question, whether we are alone in the universe, in my lifetime. I think SETI@home is a valuable contribution to the worldwide SETI efforts and the concept of the millions of once-idle computers around the world crunching away at data in the biggest "virtual" computer in the world, is just amazing.
