I'm from Uruguay South America , I like art , drawing ,painting , graphic design in other words expressing myself by generating pictures , a picture is worth a thousand words or so they say ;)
Also I find very interesting the topic about alien life and such , well most
people do , Im a fan of several science fiction movies and series and i would like to live for the day humankind makes contact , if it does ;).
Sorry for my english , it may not be very good but my mother language is spanish so i expect to have made some mistakes. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

- I think that YES , extraterrestrial life must exists , it would be quite dumb to think that earth is the only planet in the entire universe that holds life , thou I cant tell when or how humans will discover it , in fact i cant tell if humans will ever discover it but we r not loosing hope i guess :).
- Well about dangers and benefits about a discovery ... mm .. well it would depend much on the type of intelligence we meet , the state of the world over that time and a lot of other factors , but I think that the outcome can only be possitive if we dont meet a rage-driven-scifi-alien-race-that-conquers-all , joke apart , humankind will be more united and open minded.
-Transmiting Beacons... well it could be a good idea but then again that is avery costly campaign and the world still has a lot of problems like hunger that should be taking care first. But I think that yes its a good idea.
- About the message well , im not rocket scientist but I think the message should include our ideals , morals and such above our history or technology.
Also the all-timer "We come in peace" and such would be nice :)
Well why do I run SETI@home , i do it cuz althou the chance if there is any, is very slim from my perspective, u can never tell, and i think that the joined effort of everyone can do it possible , the more the better.. and also it
doesnt hurt our everyday lives to use all that wasted Computing Processing Time into something usefull.
Suggestions? well I think everything its pretty much covered so I'm all out of suggestions that may help SETI be more efficient ... thou some nicer web design and a better explanation ( bit of marketing ) could attract more people to join , I mean the current design is a bit aggresive and confusing at a first glance so more user friendly and nicer design could do the trick.
Having added my little grain of sand I just want to say that i wish the bests of luck to the SETI proyect and of course humankind :).
