Profile: Scott Kersey

Personal background
Hi all,

My name is Scott. I'm in the Knoxville area of TN (just south of Oak Ridge). I'm 31 years old and have 5 very annoying (just kidding) kids. Working on the 2nd marrage...and maybe 2nd divorce. I run a small network design firm. Have too many bad hair days....and I'm thinking of starting a prozak habbit!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
On to the good stuff

If ET doesn't exist, man what a waste of space! But if he is out there...
I think, that they would probably want nothing to do with us. Think about it, we are self destructive, self centered, materialistic....who would want to know someone like that? Maybe thats why the folks in tim-buk-too nowhereville get "taken"? They don't have the same thought paterens that 90% of us have. As for danger...maybe they might think we are a screw-up of cosmic size and put an end to our way of life.
Sending a message into space at this point...well, maybe the nearest star would get it in 50-100 years. Kinda pointless if ya ask me. We have enough trash floating in the air now, some of it is going to hit sometime. Just picture it, you are watching TV and the picture goes haywire, followed by some words you can't understand. Now you have the ET point of view.

I run SETI, well, "cuz the government don't givem' enuf money". So, I thought I'd help out. And we get those GREAT awards to hang on the wall.

I hope the project keeps going forever, so I don't have to change screen savers.

The only suggestion would be to alter the code slightly so that it runs on some of my older boxes (with less than 20meg).
