Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

1. Life out there? Yes, it does exist. But not the way we imagine it.

2. Sending beacons? Why not? Chances of having some other "SETI" on the galaxy are about 1*10e-30. Chances that that SETI project is good enough to get the signal, at the right time, are 1*10e-35. But an impossible thing is just something we haven't tried yet.

3. Why do I run SETI? Because humans like to belong to groups. And i'm giving my computer a better usage. Even if we can't find "life" out there, SETI will give many investigation teams a precious set of information.
