Profile: Gunter

Personal background
I am 34 years old and live in Minnesota, USA. My friends call me Gunter because of my pizza eating habits back in college. I have a wife and a 5-year-old son. In 2001 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Due to the severity of the disease I no longer work. As a result, I spend a fair amount of time on my computer trying to keep myself busy and keeping in touch with friends. Before my diagnosis, I worked in a hospital on a child and adolescent mental health unit. My interested include psychology, philosophy, religion, astronomy, and paranormal activity. I enjoy watching movies and listening to music.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't know if ET is out there somewhere in the universe. But if it wasn't, "It sure would be a waste of space," to quote the movie Contact. I believe the work of SETI is important because we don't have an answer to the question of whether or not we are alone. Therefore, I feel like I'm contributing in a small way to finding that answer.
