Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I feel pretty certain that extraterrestrial life exists. When you consider the nuber of stars and planets in the universe.....it's obsurd to think that life or intelligent life only exists on Earth. Even in the solar system...Mars and Europa offer intriguing possibilities for life.
I don't think we have to send out some sort of beacon for other intelligent life to locate us. When you consider all the broadcasts that leak out into deep space....I think we reveal our presence very clearly.
I run SETI@home because I want to help find intelligent extraterrestrial life.
I think that discovering intelligent life elsewhere in the universe might take our minds off our own little planets petty affairs, and focus them on the universe. I'm a big Sci-fi fan and I want to see man travel to other star systems.
