Personal background |
I am a programmer from the state of Arkansas, in the United States of America. In my youth, I was always interested in the paranormal and unknown (just like almost every other teenage boy) and never really grew out of that facination (just like almost every other adult). Though, lack of time now-a-days results in me not being able to really indulge in such interests as much, but with this SETI@home program, I find that I can be an active part in the research, all the while going about my daily business. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Taking one of the suggested topics which says, "Do think extraterrestial life exists?" My oppinion would have to point to "yes." In an unending universe, it is almost impossible to believe that there is nothing else out there. If not an advanced race of human-like beings, then perhaps some plant or micro-organism must be out there, somewhere. As for benefits and dangers of such a discovery, one could possibly picture the settlers of early North America. There was the technology and trade with the Native Americans, but then there was also the disease. Oh, and the land theft, but that's covered in many movies.. |
