Personal background
Hi fellow Setiers ~

I'm from Lynn, Massachusetts ( just north of Boston and just south of Salem ). I'm 52, and began my curiosity with space and ET's at about 5 years of age when my Dad SWORE he " saw something up there ". He bought binoculars and eventually a telescope and we spent plenty of nights watching the sky together. (Thanks Dad !!! : )

I was with my daughter-in-law back in 2002 (I'm almost certain it was 2002. I should have posted this when it happened!!!) It was night time and I was driving her home. I turned the corner and started driving uphill, and that's when we saw it! "IT" being a HUGE, slightly rounded row of GIANT white lights! They seemed to be hovering right above the treetops!

I stopped the car and we just stared at it. We couldn't believe what we were seeing even though we didn't KNOW what we were seeing. What we DID know was that it was never there before and was never there again. I wanted to get out of the car but she kept yelling NOOOOO! Traffic was beginning to build up behind us beeping for us to move. From where they were, they couldn't see it yet. So I drove to the top of the hill and pulled over. We looked back and it was gone.

We sat there for awhile, not talking, just looking at the skies. I drove back around the block and it just wasn't there anymore. To my knowledge, nobody else saw it either. The police department laughed when I called and there was nothing in the newspapers about it the next few days.

On a different note, I'd like to say:
ADOPT A SHELTER PET!
ADOPT A SHELTER SENIOR! GIVE THEM A LOVING HOME TO SPEND THE REMAINDER OF THEIR TIME ON THIS EARTH! THEY DESERVE IT!

In Memory of Cage #32-Sr.

This poor soul was murdered by a killing shelter!

He had no name. He came in as a stray. Since nobody claimed him as their own, and was deemed "unadoptable" because of his age (approximatelty 12-13 years) he was to be "put to sleep." Which, in reality meant that he had a hypodermic needle full of sodium phenobarbital jabbed into his heart. An agonizing death for sure! So much for the term "put to sleep."

No-Kill Shelters are popping up everywhere! There is no need for shelters to throw innocent animals into a GAS CHAMBER! Or jab a needle into their hearts!
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL NO-KILL SHELTERS! DONATE, VOLUNTEER, ADOPT!

There are so many ways for people who love animals to help them.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There HAS to be other life SOMEWHERE. We'd be flattering ourselves if we thought otherwise. Wouldn't it be something if we could find out sooner than later ?

Yes we should transmit info to others out there. The message ?
PEACE and HELP !!!

I've been running Seti@home for over 9 years now and it still facinates me. I'm coming up on my 10 year anniversary!
And if we never find anything, then at least I hope I become user of the day ! : )

UPDATE ! I DID !!! ;) April 20, 2009.
