Personal background

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET exists. They'll let us know when contact will benefit them, they'll go on with their civilization just fine until then. Hopefully, by then we'll not look for the contact to be a major cultural change, but a nice, serendipitous discovery, perhaps.

I think that all of our RF noise is already a strong enough signal, and is also the reason we have not been contacted: They can and do decode enough to get a good look at where we are.

I run Seti@home because: I'm a member of the Athlonmb.com Seti team, and also, just in case I've got it all wrong... it's a good running benchmark to determine the health of my PC, and nobody is getting rich off of my contribution!
