Personal background
Hello all. I live in San Diego, Ca and am a co-owner of a web development company called Wiseguy Software. I've been a part of Seti for a couple of years (since 2001), but I've only recently started processing consistently.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do strongly believe that there is life out there. Even as a fairly religious person, I don't find it plausible that God would create the universe and everything in it just for us. We'll never see 1/1000th of it before we become extinct.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will find any signs of intelligent life in my lifetime. Of course, the longer it takes, the better our chances of surviving. At this point, we are not advanced enough to give any visitors a strong reason not to wipe us out and take over our resource rich planet.

I run SETI@home because it's work that needs to be done. Concrete guys have to come in and lay the foundation, even though they won't be around to see the finished house. I feel that the work we are doing today is leading directly towards finding life, I just probably won't be around to see it.
