I am an Apple computer fan from Birmingham, Alabama. I am 29 years old and run my own computer company that builds custom PC systems and does repairs and upgrades on PC and Apple systems. My hobbies include seeing how many different workstations I can fit on my desk, an old lawnmower I inherited from my grandfather and cars.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to help in the search for extra terrestrial life. I believe we are not alone in the universe and to believe that in my opinion is ludicrous. The universe is simply too big and there are too many variables for us to be alone out here.
My views on the project are that it is an excellent project to donate my system resources to and wish I had more systems to put to work. I have seen how hard the staff works and they deserve so much they arent getting.
My suggestions are to all the vendors out there to try to donate hardware that SETI can use to further this project. Sun has done an incredible job with this and should be commended. I hope others will see how Sun has helped SETI and they will do what they can as well to lend a hand.
