Profile: the dirty 1/4 dozen

Personal background
I am a 49 year old male from Ohio. My 12 year old son and I are teaming together our computers to help in the search. We love building and flying model rockets, fishing and just spending time together. We hope to make Seti a family project as we encourage our family members to join our team.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
"I believe that the universe is too vast to support only one planet with life. It's my contention that a person would have to be naiive to believe that we are alone in the universe." There is a possibility that other life forms are far more advanced in every way, or the possibility also exists that the life forms are microscopic...whatever is out there, it is inevitible that we will find it or it will find us. I hope it happens in my lifetime. We could learn the secrets that men have sought since the beginning of time or we could share helpful information with the possibility of unifying two concepts. It could also be a nightmare waiting to happen. That's the chance we will have to take, but if humans do transmit a beacon for others to find, it should be a message of goodwill with the hopes that it is interpreted as such.
