Personal background
hello , my name is (James G.Phelps),aka/gman136/the~gman136/realmfngs/ I am 40 yrs of age divorced with two sons by my previous marrige.I work in buisness interior design and construction with most of our buisness is in the Wahington D.C.& Va. areas frequently working at places such as the ,C.I.A.,Naval Inteligence,N.S.A. , F.E.M.A. etc. has given me a first hand look at the people envolved in alot of what remains mysterious to most people. But alas they are everyday people such as you and me which brings me to my sparked interest in being apart of seti! some of my favorite sceince entertainment interest include(THE X FILES) (CONTACT) (DISCOVERY CHANNEL) (NOVA) and of course the great mind of (CARL SAGAN)! What a thought this is' as a collective we can process data effeciently enough to be central'y analyzed thus networking the entire world in listening light yrs into space or back in time which ever you prefer, through a radio telescope pointed out at the stars thus linking humanity to a common goal!NOW THATS A NETWORK ! So when asked what's your computer do for you ? I'll reply, when im in front of it 'it works for me and when im not it searches the stars for intelligent life !
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
This is a true vista, right out of the minds of men,as far back as history takes us . In believing in ourselves we believe in others like us in my oppinion that is true intelligence.Being open minded and sensetive to things beyond our own single capabilities is no easy thought. the action of this type of collaboration is proof of our progression above our self destructive nature! I guess the key word in the program for me is FAITH ! So i have faith that all of the data i process on my computer helps out in the search and i will continue to run the program with that thought.
