Long time PC user, starting at a i486/33, then i486DX2/66, Dual Celeron 266, Pentium D, AMD Turion to an I7... all of these PC's have crunched some data for Seti.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes... for sure! I guess they will discover us instead of we them. I think interaction has the same hazzards as the European people discovering the Pacific: ilness. Benefits are for certain broadening our skyline

A beacon? aren't we spreading enough signals by satelites and so on? A beacon should have a very wide angle antenna to reach a large part of the galaxy, and when should our signal reach other civilizations?

I participate because of the good case SETI stands for. It makes my pc's worth while excisting.
Just Go on, SETI discovering.... (the Star Trek leader)
