Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I definitely believe that life exists beyond Earth. With the immensity of the Universe, it would seem highly unlikely that we are the only civilazation capable of seeking others. It seems like every month a new finding is released that points to the ever-increasing likelyhood that life and life-sustaining planets are common. Although I believe it may be a long time indeed before we find anything, due to the fact that even radio waves travelling at the speed of light are quite slow given the likely distance to another civilazation. But that's no reason not to look.
