Personal background
My name is Chris. I’m a 41 year old support worker, supporting adults with learning difficulties. I’m happily married to Pamela, with three boys. I live in the great Celtic country of Wales, on the beautiful north coast.
My hobbies include computers (obviously) and anything to do with mountains. I also take a great interest in my eldest son, Adam’s, athletics career. He’s a bit good!
I am a keen supporter of research into Nanotechnology, this is the future of mankind! I could bang on about the subject for hours and recommend a look at the foresight institute web site.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Let’s look at the topics above.
1.9Difficult question. I suppose I believe the answer is yes, there is life out there, but someone has to be first. Maybe WE are? Horrible thought, but you never know.
If there are others out there, then with any luck they are far in advance of us and have figured out “faster than light” travel. They may even be here already!
Benefits and dangers? The good lord only knows, I doubt we can even begin to imagine what awaits us!
2.9Good lord YES! We may only have a limited time on this rock before natural disaster or our own stupidity mean we leave or die. HELP would be a good idea!
3.9I run SETI because I believe it is all our interests to find our place in the universe and, to be optimistic, I believe we have an amazing future if we can only sort ourselves out.
A toast to the future!
