My name is Pieterjan Vandegaer, currently 17 years old, living in Belgium and studying informatics-management in Leuven, I'm from the great city of Bunsbeek though.
At the moment I'm running seti@home on my main pc, an athlon 1400 running slackware Linux (I'm not really into that windows hype wich seems to be going around these days)...

In my free(after school, weekends) time I create applications/games, just for fun altough my biggest hobby is (re)creating/restoring old arcade cabinets (a very nifty thing to do, you know).
I also like playing pinball allot and ofcourse watching some of my favourite tv-shows, this being star trek(all of it), that 70's show and ALF :)

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Extraterrestrial life... for many ppl it's just science fiction, but wouldn't it be very curious if this was the only place where intelligent life exists, this small blue-ish planet out of a million/billion/gazillion others??
Thanx to the seti-project we might actually get proof of the existence of extraterrestrial life, that's the reason why I think that running seti@home is very important, the more we search, the bigger the chance gets that we find someone out there. |
