Profile: Floyd Nash

Personal background
50 Year old male living in Kalamazoo, MI. I am a Sr. ComputerTech at a national level bank and have spent most of my life working with computers in some form. Today my passions are Metal Detecting, fishing, science and nature, Doctor Who, motorcycle riding, and pretty much anything that gets me outside. I love sharing time and watching my daughters grow up. When I first started with SETI@Home, they weren't even born yet, now my oldest is about to turn 13 in 3 weeks. The philosophy I've developed as I've grown older is that life is full of treasure... and it's up to you to find it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love SETI@home and think it's a wonderful idea. The idea of de-centralized mass computing to solve large, computationally intensive tasks is one that has reshaped the entire world of computing in the last 15 years or so, and I am very proud to be a part of that. I do think that we are not alone in the universe and one day we will find the evidence to prove it. I hate to think that we are alone in this vast space we inhabit. I think that would be a terrible waste.
