Personal background |
Ohio is my home where I live and breath technology. I like the SETI project for that reason. It gives each of us an opportunity to use our technology for a common cause. I love to travel and have visited Mexico, Canada, France, Bahamas and Italy and many states in the USA. I work as a Quality Engineer for a major automotive supplier on a multicultural scale. I am a Shainin Journeyman in reactive problem solving. I enjoy helping others and often flow with the events which unfold in my life. I have several computer businesses that I enjoy. I like hiking in the woods and taking pictures of anything and everything. I have worked in several careers, banking, sales, automotive, technology, and as a firefighter/paramedic. I am well motivated. I respect life--nature, animal and human. I live with my best friend Doug, who shares his life of music, photography, love of animals and nature. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I do not discount life beyond Earth. Allowing SETI@home to operate on my 4 computers is an interesting experiment. I enjoy sharing the possibility of finding a signal in the number crunching that is transferred to and from our machines. But, I also believe that life as we know it is on a path to destruction exponentially because our technology continues to grow. Knowledge and technology, life and many other factors are expanding in similiar fashion to doubling the value of a penny for 30 days. Couple this with both good and evil and you might slow the process but the end result will still happen at some point. Even if we do everything right 99.999999% of the time, one person will one day initiate the undoing of life as we know it. Perhaps intelligent life from elsewhere will then step into sight and sound and assist us in our ignorance and arrogance. |
