Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe there is intelligent life out there somewhere. The sheer number of galaxies out there mean that there has to be something/someone out there.

I would like to think that organisations like SETI@Home would be the people to discover that conclusive "wow" part 2 signal. As we have no idea whom or what is out there, then we could be playing with fire by simply broadcasting the Simpsons. Who is to say that another civilisation is not conducting a similar experiment, but has little interest in communication?

We would all like to think of a benign race of aliens coming to the earth and giving us a cure to all diseases, infinite clean fuel etc. I think we have little to offer anyone that is capable of interstellar travel. We are a savage people at best, perhaps it would be better if we were alone?
