Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think ET life exists. I don't wanna make any bold claims as to how and when humans will discover it. Perhaps we will be the ones to be discovered? Or have we been already? I believe it can be quite beneficial to find alien life, but I also believe it can be quite dangerous if we're not careful. We have a hard enough time getting along with our own species here on this planet, let alone an Alien species from another. I don't see why we shouldn't transmit some sort of beacon. I don't know what information we should send, but what I do know is that the only language I find to be universal is the language of mathematics...so by that logic I think the information we do send should have mathematical characteristics. I've always found that music is a good way to communicate too. Even music is mathematical structurally speaking. MAybe we could some how combine the two. I run SETI because even though it may seem futile at times, I'd rather do something then nothing to help out with what I consider to be a noble project.
