Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I find it hard to believe that extraterrestrial life does not exist. I believe that anyone that says there can't be life out there is just in denial.

As far as benefits or ganders of discovery. With us discovering them, I think the benefits or dangers are rather small. If extraterrestrial life were to find us (supposing they haven't already) the benefits and dangers are such a wide range that I would have room to list them all. I belive that we would be found by one of two types of societies. War like society out looking for area to conqour (I'm sure we would be no match) or an exploration type society. With the exploration type society, I beleve (would be more likely) would be quite benefitial to us, although they would probably look at the controversy we have among ourselves, shake their heads and leave.

I'm not certain I believe we should attempt sending a beacon, although our radio and TV transmissions act as one anyway.

I run Seti@home because I am curious. I want to know if we are alone. I believe it is a worth while project, and the CPU time that it takes from me is not missed.

As far as the software itself goes, I would like to see some improvements, more user interactive. Less prone to crashing.
