Personal background
I enjoy drinking beer. When I am not drinking beer it's generally because I am out of beer in which case I brew more beer. Occasionally I buy the beer and drink that beer or invite friends over and tell them I have no beer so they had better bring some so I can drink it. I often find this the best tasteing beer due to it being free and all. I like computers because I can home commute. This allows me to drink beer and not have to drive.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I figure something has to be out there. The possible benefits would be that I bet they have discovered how to brew beer as well and probably have some very distinctive tasting beers. It would be nice to exchange recipes. I bet they are discovered having a pint with someone in a bar. Probably in Dublin, but I wouldn't discount Munich or Portland OR..

2. I think we should send the recipe for Guinness it demonstrates mans commitment to perfection.

3. Because I have a lot of processors doing nothing and I am extemely competative. It's a great project, but what's it doing for beer? You should talk Nasa into brewing beer in outer space, I bet those little yeasties would flourish in zero G's. Would an ale still be an ale?
